WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF THINKING

I’M DEMIAN COOREY

RESEARCHER, TRAINER AND SPEAKER

I have one job: to make you the professional that the future will demand.

You ready?

DEMIAN COOREY

YOU KNOW WHAT I WANT FOR YOU?

I want you to be the person that stops conversations at parties.

Imagine someone asking you “what do you think China’s going to do” or “In the future, do you think health care workers will become redundant”,

Now imagine all the conversations around you slowly going quiet, as people lean in because you’re the only one there that can speak with clarity about what’s ahead

That’s what I want for you - to be able to see into the future with confidence, so others come to you for leadership.

The future is not coming too fast. The future is coming just slow enough for us to
think we can ignore it

BEHIND THE FUTURE OF THINKING, WE HAVE…

THE ONE BIG IDEA

Of all the future ideas you’ll ever hear, this is the one that fascinates most people:

Fact 1: 80% of all jobs in the modern economy rely on left brained, analytical thinking.

Fact 2: Anything that the left brain can do, computers can be programmed to do faster, cheaper and more reliably.

Prediction: The only way professionals can stay ahead of intelligent computers is to develop skills that computers can’t mimic. That is, opening up the right, creative side of our brain.

This is the foundational idea behind The Future of Thinking

Here’s what’s interesting though: Fact 1 and Fact 2 have been true for the last 50 years. Want to know why it’s only now starting to be a concern? Read about it here…

THE BACK STORY

FROM SCIENTIST/ANALYST TO CREATIVE ANIMATOR - HOW I WOKE UP THE OTHER HALF OF MY BRAIN

CREATING FUTURE LEADERS

For over 10 years I owned and ran an animation studio, pushing creative limits.

It’s a whole lot of fun, but what’s more interesting is that I started my career as a research physicist, then moved on to become Citibank Australia’s Chief Analyst. That’s right - I was as left brained, analytical as you can get. I had no creative confidence at all.

But a difficult conversation with my dad about a sudden crisis in his business made me realise that future survival depends on

waking up the right, creative side of our brain.
